Mission Statement |
Lakeside Pumphouse Artists Association ![]() Elizabeth Street Pumphouse Painting by Dennis Chilton Wednesday afternoons, 1:00 - 4:00 pm
Started in 2001 with only nine members, the LPAA has grown to over 60 registered members. The group meets each Wednesday afternoon in the Elizabeth St. Pumphouse, located in Forty Mile Creek Park on Lake Ontario at Grimsby. Replaced by a new waterworks in 1998, the building locally known as the Pumphouse, was partially restored by the town and the Historical Society for public use. Our goals are to bring together people with a common interest in art, and to provide opportunities for sharing artistic skills and techniques. The group enables artists in different media to share their specialized skills, and enhances that experience by organizing seasonal workshops using professional artists in different media, and by holding art exhibitions to display members' work. We encourage art appreciation and strive to develop leadership in visual arts. So, why don't you join us? We welcome ALL artists, whatever their level of expertise. Whether you are a professional artist or a beginner just trying to figure out which end of the paint brush is up, we would love to have you visit us at one of our Wednesday afternoon gatherings. Send us your comments, ideas and suggestions.
